The seeds of these words were planted on a summer’s evening in Glastonbury, Lammas Day 2007.
Writing eleven years later, time spirals into infinity and collapses into the present moment.
New Moon and I know it’s time to draw a line under emotional navel-gazing and take decisive action. The stars tell me it’s time.
The only way I can make sense of these emotions is to write.
The first two lines came as they usually do, while I driving and the rest a few weeks later. The words were waiting in the shadows and flowed quickly into the light
I resolve not to let another eleven years pass before I follow my ‘Personal Legend’ and embrace the alchemy of this lifetime.
My Goddess Vow
My heart is yearning to believe
There’s more to life than I perceive,
Born innocent into this life unknown
Carrying seeds of destiny to be sown.
Where I cast them on stony ground
I learned lessons hard, feeling hurt profound,
Yet through each trauma great and small
My spirit grew strong and I now stand tall.
The path is long and spirals still
Into the darkness, strengthening my will,
To be my true self, sacred and new
Opening my soul to bring the light through.
Those tiny seeds of hope now flourish
On fertile soil filled with Love and Courage,
Through eons past we suffered for our knowledge
Of Earth, Stars and Stone in sacred trust and homage.
Now this lifetime’s come full circle home
Let’s celebrate the lineage of Maiden, Mother and Crone,
Reaching out to others as never before
Releasing the past and embracing once more.
In soul-sister magic,enchantment and love
Whispering soft spells as we move hand in glove,
Around the circle of fire burning bright
Intentions sparking like fireflies in the moonlight.
Our time is here now the karmic wheel turns
I know my life’s purpose and feel my heart yearn,
To open my soul to the voices I hear
Bringing through their words, resonant and clear.
Flowing from the heart not the rational mind
Geometries of colour shaped on paper and line,
To forget all lifetimes is the soul’s curse
To think we are nothing but ashes and dust.
To realise my soul is eternal I understand now,
To honour my Spirit is My Goddess Vow
